UnBun Foods expands retail presence amid increased demand for healthful options – Fast Casual

Dec. 12, 2018

UnBun Foods is now offering its certified keto, paleo, grain-free and gluten-free buns in more than 300 locations throughout the United States and Canada. That’s up from just three locations at the beginning of the year, according to a company press release.

The Toronto-based company’s products are now available in stores and restaurants including Whole Foods, The Burger’s Priest and Erewhon Natural Foods. Founder Gus Klemos expects the company’s growth to continue, considering  Americans consume more than 50 billion burgers each year and the demand for keto-friendly, gluten-free, grain-free and sugar-free options is booming,

“The customers are out there, and being able to serve them will be a competitive differentiator for anyone who carries this product,” he said.

UnBun’s products, which are made with almond and coconut flour and contain no added sugar, are available in mini-baguette and traditional sandwich bun styles. A vegan option is available as well.
