Crisps and chips are undoubtedly delicious, but they aren’t the healthiest option for snacking.
If you’re on a ketogenic diet – or simply want to cut down on your shop-bought (and often bad for you) snacks – there are other ways to get your crunch fix.
These avocado chips from KetoKraze on TikTok are a perfect option, and thankfully are easy and cheap to make.
All you’ll need is half an avocado, half a cup of grated cheddar, and half a cup of grated parmesan.
You can add any other seasonings you want, with many commenters on the original recipe suggesting spice blends like the Everything But the Bagel seasoning (which isn’t available in the UK but can be easily made with seeds, dried onion, dried garlic, and salt).
Mash the avocado and mix in the cheese, before putting the mixture in dollops onto a baking sheet and flattening.
At this point they’ll look sort of like biscuits.
Bake them in an oven pre-heated to 180C for 30 minutes, and you’re good to go.
Use them to dip anything you want, from salsa to cream cheese. You could also go mad and dip in guacamole for a double-avo hit.
They should stay crispy even once cooled, so are perfect to pop in a bag and bring to school or work.
The original recipe has now been watched over 250,000 times, and commenters can’t seem to get enough.
One said: ‘I tried them and they were amazing,’ while another called them, ‘sooo delicious.’
Hey, if we can eat more homemade goodies and feel like we’re not snacking on junk, we’re sold.
