That's a little disturbing I follow Nick on Instagram He's a super-cool guy Check him out right there And he was on the keto diet, and he's like, "You know what? These pork rinds are not doing it for me

I'm gonna see if I can come up with something better" And what these are are pieces of pig skin with meat and fat still attached, which is amazing Before I get into them, I'll talk a little bit about the ingredients and the macronutrients So we've got 15 grams of fat and 9 grams of protein, 0 grams of carbs Ingredients: rendered pork fat (with skin and meat attached), salt, spices, and love

Produced in packaged at Indy's Kitchen, 2442 Central Ave, Indianapolis, Indiana 46205 When I originally opened this, I was like, "Where are the calories? what's up with that? They don't have the calories listed on here" And shout out to BFray, who commented on the KetoKrate unboxing He was like, "Dummy, there's math You can use math

Take the amount of fat (that's 15 grams) multiplied by 9, and add it to the number of grams of protein times 4 That's 135 plus 36 There should be 171 calories in the bag So I checked with Nick on Instagram I was like, "Hey, you didn't list the calories on the bag

Do you know, off the top of your head, how many there are?" He's like, "171" So shout out to BFray for setting me straight with the mathematics At any rate, I am so excited to try these This is original There are two other flavors

There's a BBQ, and I believe Hot and Spicy My buddy Scott reviewed all three of the flavors over on his channel You should check that out if you're interested But I am going to tear into this bag I'm very very excited

Do not microwave" Good advice Look at the size of this thing! Holy cow Thatthat's an enormous one This is the largest one in the bag Like, there's not much left in the bag This might be a couple of them fused together

You can see there's some good-looking spicy stuff on there Man Oh my god You can hear how crunchy it is My goodness

That's like it's so interesting, because you you bite through the top, and it's kind of gooey and fatty And then that bottom part — it's kind of like this one, at least — it's like sometimes you get those hard-as-a-diamond nuggets at the bottom of a pork rinds bag I got a little bit of that Not quite as severe, but I really do like the contrast of that Okay, I'm SO on board with these Holy cow

There's a tiny little guy This is the next one I pulled out It's about ten percent the size of the first one And that one was much lighter and fluffier It was like, almost all air

I often recommend and talk about a keto-paleo style of eating, so naturally a question I am often asked is, “What is a keto-paleo style of eating?” It’s a great question, and in today’s video, I’m going to answer it Hey there, Dr

Nicole here, and today I’m going to explain what a keto-paleo style of eating is There’s so much information circulating out there about keto-paleo, it can be hard, and sometimes time-consuming, to navigate through everything Others might describe this style of eating differently, but today I’m going to explain the way that I use the term in my life and in my Reset & Revitalize program Keto is short for ketogenic and describes the macronutrient content of your food – meaning, the amount of carbohydrates, fats and proteins that make up your diet A ketogenic style of eating has a high fat, moderate protein, low carbohydrate macronutrient content

This style of eating encourages your metabolism to burn fat for fuel, instead of sugar or glucose Fat’s burned in the form of ketones, hence the term keto or ketogenic Paleo refers to the specific foods that our ancestors ate and the foods for which our genetics are optimized Paleo foods include quality meats and organ meats, seafood, eggs from pasture-raised chickens, vegetables, fruits, and raw nuts and seeds A paleo style of eating excludes refined grains, sugar, legumes, and processed foods, and also dairy

I typically recommend that people avoid dairy, with two exceptions: grass-fed butter and ghee You can watch my video on dairy to learn why dairy can be problematic To summarize, ketogenic refers to the macronutrient content of your food: so a high fat, moderate protein, low carbohydrate diet; and paleo refers to the specific foods that make up this dietary pattern So, a keto-paleo style of eating would include quality meats and organ meats, seafood, pastured eggs, low-carbohydrate vegetables and fruits, and raw nuts and seeds, with an emphasis on healthy fats and limiting vegetables and fruits that are high carbohydrate Eating keto-paleo can have tremendous health benefits, like increased energy and improved metabolism, so it’s a style of eating that I personally follow and I also recommend in the meal plans for the Reset & Revitalize program

– Hey guys, and welcome back We're in the middle of zucchini season, which for me, as a gluten-free eater, is one of my favorite seasons because I love zucchini noodles

I have several zucchini noodle recipes over on my website and I have a zucchini noodle tutorial here on this channel So, if you're looking for a little zucchini inspiration, make sure to check that out But today, I've got a new zucchini recipe and it really couldn't be any easier It's baked zucchini fries and it's just three ingredients, plus some spices Zucchini fries are a great snack and this version is gluten-free, low-carb, and keto-friendly, because instead of using breadcrumbs, we are using fresh Parmesan cheese and you are gonna love the crispy, cheesy outside

So, let me show you how to make 'em To get started, you'll preheat your oven to 425 degrees fahrenheit and get your ingredients out, which includes two zucchini, fresh Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, and an egg Crack the egg into a small bowl or container and use a fork or small whisk to stir it up Next, finely grate about a cup of fresh Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese Fresh cheese has so much more flavor than pre-grated cheese and doesn't include fillers such as cellulose, which is an anti-caking agent made from wood pulp

There was actually a lot of controversy around pre-grated Parmesan cheese a few years ago because folks learned that not only did packaged cheese include this additive from wood pulp, but many times, it was also cut with cheaper cheese that wasn't Parmesan So needless to say, you can avoid all of that by simply grating fresh Parmesan yourself And since I know I'll get asked this question, I'm storing the cheese in my Stasher bag, which you can learn more about on my Meal Prep Containers video Add the grated cheese to another small bowl or container, and then add some spices to it I'm adding a teaspoon of garlic powder and a teaspoon of Italian Seasoning

if you don't have Italian Seasoning, you could use a blend of oregano, thyme, basil, rosemary, and sage And if you're not concerned about low-carb for this recipe, you could opt for a half a cup of almond flour and a half a cup of Parmesan Almond flour will give you a crunchier outside but I prefer the cheesier flavor It's just personal preference and you can experiment to see which you like better Once you've added your spices, use your fingers to make sure everything is well-mixed and stirred together

To slice the zucchini into small, wedge-shaped fries, just cut the zucchini in half, then slice each half in half, then into quarters, so you'll end up with 16 fries per zucchini Of course, if you have larger or smaller zucchini than what I have, just adjust the number of slices (refreshing music) Now, my zucchini came straight out of the fridge and they've started to condensate a little, so I'll just blot them with a paper towel You don't want any excess moisture on the zucchini as it will make it harder for the egg wash to stick All right, now we've got our assembly line ready

Have your slices of zucchini on one end, then the egg wash, Parmesan cheese, and a parchment-lined baking tray Use one hand to coat the zucchini in egg and let any excess drip off Then transfer that to the cheese, and use your other hand to coat the zucchini in the cheese and spice blend You really wanna keep your hands separate with only one touching the egg and one touching the cheese Otherwise, you'll end up with a big mess of wet cheese and clumpy zucchini fries, and that's the number one problem people have when making these at home, so that's my number one tip

After the zucchini is coated in cheese, gently shake off any excess and place the zucchini on the baking tray Repeat this process until all of your zucchini are coated and ready to be baked (refreshing music) Place the trays of zucchini into the oven and bake for about 25 to 30 minutes, flipping halfway through on the cut side Now, because I used fresh cheese and not cheese with an anti-caking additive, you'll notice that this cheese melts more than it would with store-bought, pre-grated Parmesan, and that's 100% okay with me (refreshing music) While the zucchini fries are baking, I'm gonna whip up a quick lemon-parsley aioli for your dipping sauce

So I'll add a half a cup of mayonnaise, one minced garlic clove, the juice from one lemon, and salt and pepper to a bowl Then I'm gonna go out on my patio and grab a few leaves of fresh parsley for about a tablespoon's worth of finely chopped parsley I'll stir all of that together and then set that aside for serving When your zucchini fries are done, remove them from the oven and use tongs to transfer them to a plate And it's best to eat the zucchini fries immediately when they're warm and crispy right out of the oven

Hello Friends Welcome to 5-Minute Kitchen with Shraddha Today we will make very quick and super easy keto snacks Keto Spicy Eggplant And without taking much of your time let's start Ingredients : Eggplant 1/2 tsp Coriander powder 1/2 tsp

Hey it is so good to be back this week with kind of an interesting take on snacks, this video is going to cover, or kind of qualify for several different areas, one it is Cooking with Chris, it is a Cooking with Chris episode however it is also going to contain the video information about how to make Keto friendly snacks, low carb snacks, things that you can reach for when you are on your weight loss journey, if you are, and they are so delicious it doesn't really matter, they are great to have around as a snack regardless, because they are low calorie, low carb and everybody is kind of interested in that anyway Before I go on with this though, what I would like for you to do, if you have not done so already, it to please subscribe to the channel, and hit the little bell so that you can get new updates when the videos are live

We have videos coming to you on health and wellness, weight loss, diets like Keto and Paleo, we have those series, we have skin care which is what I'm known for in the first place, all kind of skin care hacks, ways to anti-age, ways to end acne breakouts, makeup tutorials, you name it we've got a lot of health and wellness and beauty information for you on the channel So be sure and dig around for stuff that is of interest to you So anyway, back to what we are doing today is Keto friendly snacks Now the holidays are not far off and I have a favorite here with me today, which is kind of a Keto version of the Chex Mix that you serve at parties This is totally Keto friendly, it contains something called Moon Cheese, and Moon Cheese is a baked puffed cheese, that's 100% cheese that you can buy already made, or there are recipes for how to do it, and I'll probably do a how to video on this as well, but this snack mix is great because it takes two bags of Moon Cheese, a bag of turkey jerky, and a bag of beef jerky and you've got a mix that is great, now this is totally Keto, low carb, Atkins friendly, all of this is

There are no carbohydrates in this, we serve it at parties, it's a great alternative for those that are trying to watch their weight, especially as we move into the holiday season that's going to be coming around the corner very soon But it's also great to have around to eat Now, the way you store this is really great When you buy your jerky, and try to buy jerky that is you know, as low carb as you can find Some of them have barbecue sauce, they have sugar added, so you really want to look at your label and make sure that you have 1, 2, 3, at max 4 net carbs per serving on that

Then your Moon Cheese will have no carbs So when you buy the turkey jerky or beef jerky, whatever you want, peppered, whatever, you can use whatever kind you like When you buy those, save the little moisture reduction packets that come with them and put them in your bag that you store this trail mix or as I call, Keto Trail Mix in, it will keep much longer, keeps moisture out, you can keep it in your refrigerator These are already processed and ready to kept so, and the meat is cured, so it will keep for 4 or 5 days after you open it and mix it together but if you keep it in the refrigerator you can get a week out of it, if it lasts that long, because it's very very tasty and it's hard to put down So now I want to also talk about a couple of other snacks that are great to have

One of the hard things about weight loss or dieting is that hunger pangs happen when they happen, and we go and reach for whatever we have available in the kitchen So that being said, it makes sense right to have things that we are going to reach for that are going to be low carb or no carb, or Keto friendly, or whatever you're on, so obviously we don't want to keep a lot of processed foods, chips snacks, ice cream, things like that if we are trying to watch our weight and trying to diet It doesn't make a lot of sense So one of those things is bacon Bacon is a great great way to have a snack ready to go, you can bake it ahead of time, 375 degrees for about 25 minutes, get it nice and crisp, it keeps very well in the refrigerator, great go to when you are hungry

Also, pepperoni chips Now pepperoni chips are an amazing way to add flavor, I call it Italian bacon, a way to add flavor to your diet program Those also you bake those in the oven for 10 minutes and I'm going to do a video on that too, there will be a video on all of these things separated, but the pepperoni chips are delicious because you bake a lot of the fat out, and they are crispy, so they also keep very well for several days and they are very very tasty and hard to put down, and those you bake in the oven, again for about 10 minutes at 350 degrees and you're going to be shocked if you've never done this before, they're delicious The last thing I want to talk about on this video as far as a go to snack is making your own Parmesan crisps Parmesan crisps are so easy to make, and they are expensive at the store, most places I have gone where you buy a package of them, three or four ounces of them, it's $6

You can buy the Parmesan cheese, it's very easy to do, you're going to put a little bit of this on a non stick pan at 400 degrees for 6 – 8 minutes , and you're going to have these Parmesan crisps, and again I'm going to do a separate video on the how to of it, but the basics of it is, it's a tablespoon of Parmesan cheese shredded, you know shredded Parmesan cheese, then you crack some black pepper across the top of it and you bake that for 6 to 8 minutes until they are golden brown and you take them out and you have voila! Parmesan crisps! So very easy to do, and much cheaper than buying them already made Again these will keep for several days after you make them and they are absolutely delicious I hope you find this information helpful for Keto snacks, if you are entertaining, use all of these types of snacks in a mix with your friends that come over and eat the regular stuff, you know have the things for them, you want to be a good host But if you are trying to watch your weight, these are great things to have on hand for you and the other people who you know are trying to do the same thing, they'll be very appreciative and they'll probably be surprised at some of these delicious items you have to offer Again thank you for watching today, this is a fairly short video, it's meant to be that exactly, again I will have videos on how to make each of these items for you, and I look forward to bringing more healthy alternatives and great recipes as we move through the next several months and we have some great great content coming up
