Chocolate Mint Patties – Low Carb Keto Peppermint Patty

Welcome all! Papa G here Today I present a cool and refreshing treat

My low carbohydrate peppermint patties A lightly sweet peppermint center surrounded by a dark chocolate coating What's not to love? Let's get started We'll construct our patties by pouring 1 cup of unsweetened coconut flakes into a food processor Process a minute or two until all the flakes have broken down and begin to bind

Scrape down the sides as needed Once the coconut flakes have been broken down, add a granulated sugar substitute equal to 1/3 cup of regular sugar and pulse to mix Now add some coconut oil; a bit of water; and a half a teaspoon of peppermint extract Place the lid back on and mix until everything is combined To form our patties we'll be using a silicone mold

You can use any silicone mold you like, but the size of the mold will vary the number of patties the recipe will make With this mold we'll get about 16 patties Using a teaspoon, fill each mold to the top, pressing to compact Once filled, take a straight edge, something like this icing spatula, and run it along the top Take the excess and fill more of the molds

When the molds are filled, place in the freezer for at least 1 hour to set After about an hour remove each patty and place on some wax paper Using silicone molds makes this step very easy Set the patties aside while we work on our chocolate To make this easy will be using Lily's dark chocolate chips, pre sweetened with stevia

Pour some chips into a plastic container We don't want to use glass here as glass will retain too much heat and may cause the chocolate to separate Place the chocolate in the microwave for 30 seconds Remove and stir Stirring will help distribute the heat, as microwaves don't heat very evenly

Now place back in the microwave for 10 seconds Remove and stir again This melting process requires a bit of patience, but it has a very high success rate Now it was obvious to me that I didn't have enough chocolate – who really does? – so feel free to add more Just continue to use the 10 second cook and stirring method

I think it took me about 4 or 5 times to get the chocolate where I wanted Now we're ready for the fun part Place a patty into the chocolate and with a fork, turn to coat Place the coated patty on some wax paper Repeat these steps until all the patties are coated

Place in the refrigerator to help set After a few minutes they're ready to enjoy Cool chocolatey goodness! There you have it folks! My low carbohydrate peppermint patties A cool and refreshing way to enjoy a low carb diet

little background Domino's is right up the street for me I'm talking walking distance to light years ago every Friday night I get off work come in the house get like a really high and then walk up the street and get a whole piece and you know the funny part about it like I will always go in there and you think when you're high everybody knows you're hot but really nobody cares but what happens is you subconsciously you you're telling yourself you're high and you're acting high because you're trying to act normal rather than act normal so users in there like yeah what if there is can i yeah yeah be normal be normal yeah yeah thank you thank thank you it will always be the buffalo chicken American legend now if I was feeling a little frisky it'll be the pepperoni bacon and extra cheese but let's move on life was rather interesting like that anyway the PISA was so good but I felt ripped off when I saw the ingredients there isn't even any pizza sauce on the pizza the cheese's the hot sauce the onion the ticket it all came together really well actually I mean I guess they knew what they were doing you know you really don't even notice they take one of the main ingredients off those bastards so I made a copycat Fathead dough before I actually put that on my Instagram but that was so long ago like but the thing about it like it tasted almost identical but I wanted to do a little different this time you know since I'm recording a video of it so I decided to stuff it in a keto fat head da cows are how you like that yes let's make this dumb oh yeah one thing for recipe details over at shitless crystals calm there will be a link in the description box below for you alright so almond flour coconut flour xantham gum mix them up and then add in your egg it's still dry so the mozzarella will bring it all together on low heat we want to melt the T's not cook it once the cheese is melted pull it off and then we're gonna knead the dough not paying attention to what I did because at the particular time I was a little unknown of what I had to work with but you should be able to get three to four calzones out of this dough I only got two and then I didn't stretch the dough out long enough or thin enough like and I had a hard time if you look at it but I recommend that after you need it form it into a ball and then cut it into fourths or thirds depending on the size you want this will make your job much easier I promise what the dough between parchment paper roll it out into circles well the best supper you can anyway and a quick thank you to simply so healthy for this fat head no recipe I felt no needs have reinvent the wheel with that hair though like it's a bit too simple so I kind of just use someone else's I mean you know that's why I figured was on internet for anyway now at this point you put your fillings in your white American and provolone cheeses along with their chicken onion and hot sauce of choice now the Domino's Pizza has sliver onions um I wanted to see I want to see how these cube onions go because I was being lazy so I just kind of went to Walmart and picked up some already chopped up onions you know you know make it simple as possible now Domino's uses Frank's Red Hot because I put that dude on everything I love that slogan man oh my god it's funny then you closed your calzone up and then you put slits so in convinced you don't want the creases to pop so that's what the slits are for placing the oven at about 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 20 minutes now keeping it hot when your calzones to make sure that the dough doesn't burn because it was it will Brown slowly so just kind of keep an eye on it after it's done pull it out let it cool cuz the insides gonna be like smoking hot after that sit and grab you some rent or you can eat it the way it is let's dig in now the pending on how you like your spicy the two things I was stress to make sure that you put play up inside the calzone it's the cheese and the onion oh and the hot sauce for like a little kick or depending on how much you like spicy but the tickets cool but the T's in the onion and the hot sauce like they really I guess because they add moisture and then that that onion it likes to crunch that diced up bias I prefer to sliver is beyond us that's what's on the pizza this sliver onions tend to work better and have more of a taste to them I guess because they're long I don't know I'm not gonna try I don't know but the chicken don't bother making your own chicken cuz Domino's doesn't you already know is some store-bought frozen chicken well not necessarily frozen but this is why I use right in the grocery store already cooked chicken this is what Domino's uses that's where it takes just like dominos it Creamy Alfredo Sauce – Easy Low Carb Keto Recipe

Welcome all! Papa G here Today is Saucy Sunday! It's where we focused primarily on low carbohydrate recipes for sauces, condiments, and dressings

Most of the videos will be short and to the point Just something to help add a little flavor to your low carbohydrate diet Let's get started For this week's Saucy Sunday episode we'll be making a low carbohydrate creamy alfredo sauce You can use this classic italian sauce to add zing to some sauteed zucchini noodles; or in a wonderfully delicious Chicken Florentine Casserole

Look for that recipe very soon! Begin with a saucepan on medium high heat; add 2 cups of heavy cream; eight tablespoons of unsalted butter cook and stir until the butter is melted Now add some salt; ground black pepper; and a generous amount of garlic powder Give that a stir to combine Before it begins to come to a boil, add one egg yolk and whisk to mix in

When the sauce comes to a slight boil, reduce the heat to medium and add four ounces of shredded Parmesan cheese Continue to whisk until the cheese is incorporated You'll know it's there when you can't see the melted cheese as you lift the whisk Continue to stir and simmer and allow the sauce to reduce and thicken This process will take about 10 to 15 minutes

As it gets to the reduced state, give it a taste for salt This sauce is very easy to make and adds an Italian flavor to just about anything – including my upcoming recipe be on the lookout for that very soon I hope you enjoyed this video If you did, please like in consider subscribing

GAPS and Keto for Brain Health

hey glad you're here today we're going to talk about the GAPS version of the ketogenic diet The Gut and Psychology Syndrome, or the GAPS diet really goes after your gut flora and it gets that gut flora to stop sending signals to your brain to say like hey be depressed hey have autism hey stim hey be super anxious that's what the GAPS diet is about is about fixing your gut and the ketogenic diet is about being in ketosis so your brain is running on ketones, not on glucose because there's not enough glucose in your intake to keep your brain going your brain can run on ketones and those ketones and they're not completely sure how this works but those ketones are what makes people with like schizophrenias keeping people with autism people with Alzheimer's and people with severe seizure disorders that aren't otherwise controlled by drugs are either their seizures go down to zero or they go from like a hundred today to like two a day and so this is the the ketones that your brain is running on is what the really powerful part of being on the ketogenic diet is for brain health if you go from the gaps diet to the ketogenic diet that is pretty easy like head out the sugar or cut out the honey and cut out the fruits the ketogenic diet is something that really I try not to say it's a cure-all because it doesn't work for everyone but I want to say for like the 80/20 principle 80% of people really are gonna benefit from the ketogenic diet and so that's something I would encourage you if you have the time if this is something you want to do I would go ahead and try I don't I wouldn't say that it's something you have to do like for three months at a time to see any benefit I really think that those ketones are like really healing to the brain and so if you can do it for a month or even two weeks I think that that's definitely worth it I am committing to one month out of this summer that's all I'm committing to that I'm for sure doing it for my kids I'd like to do it all summer but we'll see how how it goes and that's something that I think that you would benefit from as well so that's the difference between the gaps diet and the ketogenic diet and then just a quick rundown of the questions that I always get of what's allowed on what on the gap state can you drink alcohol and this is something that people always want to know yes and so to do the gaps version or the yeah the ketogenic version of the Cape's diet you're gonna want to stick with distilled alcohol so like vodka whiskey the ones that don't have flavors in it like that's all I can think of off the top of my head I think Jenna's just flavored with like berries or herbs or something so the hard alcohols that are really just 100 percent alcohol are completely fine you want to stay away from like beer or even wine wine as' like red wine is something that you can fit into your ketogenic diet but you need to be careful because because half a bottle of red wine which is two cups probably has your entire carb count for the day in it so I would just like watch the carbs on the red wine but that is something to stay on gaps because we're doing talking about the gaps version of the ketogenic diet you definitely want to avoid light beer I know that some people on keto drink light beer like one or two of the Michelob Ultra is but that's like but there's too much wheat in that like it's gonna mess up your system it's gonna feed those pathogenic bacteria we're trying to starve out with the gut the gaps diet so yeah we just talked about alcohol that coffee coffee black coffee is allowed on both gaps and the ketogenic version of the gaps diet you can put coconut cream in it that's a pretty low carb heavy whipping cream is something that is allowed on keto but it's not allowed on gaps and so that's something that you're gonna kind of want to see how it works cream is one of those things especially raw cream is something that people that are on the advanced stages of gaps might be able to handle but for most of you if you're trying to heal your gut at the same time that you're trying to heal your brain then you're gonna want to stick with coconut milk so that full fat coconut milk is really good then monk fruit is something to sweeten or stevia to sweeten I don't like stevia and coffee but you're my own your mileage may vary so alcohol and coffee let's just circle around the alcohol again so alcohol is something that especially if you have a child with a disability maybe you are using alcohol and maybe a less than healthy way but it might be something that you're just doing to cope that's like that's your own personal choice but I just want to remind you it is a toxin it is linked to leaky gut and it's something that's not healthy for your body like in the gaps and keto we're trying to clean up bonnie's that's not healthy for your body but your mileage may vary like I said and I'm definitely not judging you because I will admit that I don't completely abstain from alcohol either so it's not a free-for-all just because it's caps legal but it's also not going to mess up your microbiome that you're trying to reprogram or the ketones that are going to your brain so that's what I wanted to talk about today was the gapps version of the ketogenic diet and a lot of you know me from posting my story of trying to heal autism with the gaps diet and the gap size something I was comfortable with talking about but what you don't know is at the same time and this was about eight years ago that I started what can I eat now which is my introduction version to the gaps diet and I started health unknown happiness I also put my daughter on the ketogenic version of the gaps diet which is a very low carb and I did that because I had seen that the ketogenic diet can help with seizures and gaps is already pretty low carb so just dropping it down a little bit to be low carb enough for her to be in ketosis is something that I wanted to try but I wasn't comfortable sharing with the public but now that the ketogenic diet is actually almost mainstream I want to see now I am comfortable her doctor knows that she's been on the ketogenic diet and that we're doing it again this summer my parents know like everybody in public knows the school knows and so this is something that we're 8 years ago people were like they were just viscerally yelling at me telling me I was gonna give my child permanent damage now this is more accepted and if you look at the literature in the past 80 years and even longer the ketogenic diet has been used for seizure control which is what made me think I needed to try it because my daughter had suspected seizures they weren't ever diagnosed and we did do the formal studies that show that she did not have seizures but it was just something that I'm like mmm well maybe if she is since we're already doing dietary intervention this is something worthwhile to try and actually she thrived on the ketogenic version of the gaps diet and I could tell when I bumped her addict ketosis which we'll go into in a little bit I could tell that she just didn't do as well like she needed to be both on Coconut Collagen Keto Coffee

hey everybody Derek here and I'm about to make my coconut collagen Keto coffee first thing you need at any coffee recipe is good coffee good coffee means freshly ground and brewed 8 ounces of coffee is what we use in here put it in your blender cup now today I'm gonna be making a vanilla latte so I'm gonna put in some calathea farms almond milk creamer two tablespoons we'll call that one and I'll call that and for our vanilla flavoring we've got a simply organic pure vanilla extract you can get both of these on luckyvitamincom I'm gonna do 1/2 a teaspoon I don't know how to measure that so that kind of looks like half a teaspoon all right so that's what's gonna make this a vanilla latte now we're gonna add our luckyvitamin coconut oil 1 tablespoon if you dip it into the hot coffee it should go all right now we put in our luckyvitamin collagen powder two scoops ten grams of protein so if you're taking this mid-morning or mid-afternoon this is gonna help you feel full and the MCTS and the coconut oil are those healthy fats that are a great source of energy and also going to help you feel full now we're gonna bring in eight drops of our lucky eats stevia alright and you can increase or reduce that as much as you want I like a sweet cup of coffee so eight drops is what works for me now we're gonna tighten on our blender attachments drop it on the old magic bullet and let the magic happen all right this is my favorite part is as you untwist this the air escapes and you get a nice fluffy heads – this cup of coffee now I don't normally drink out a glass but then pour it in here just for y'all to see how creamy comes out and haven't settles again you get that nice foamy top kind of like a latte that's really good people that are starting a keto diet often feel tired after the carbs start leaving their body so the caffeine of this coffee plus the healthy MCTS and the coconut oil are really going to help you on your way towards that keto goal

PB & Whey | Killer Whey’s Chocolate and Peanut Butter Keto Ice Cream

Time for the fourth and final flavor in the line of keto ice creams from Killer Whey This one is called PB & Whey, and I'm gonna review it right now

And you know what? Mere moments ago, I realized that PB & Whey is a play on PB&J I was struggling Like, "What is PB & Whey about? I don't get that" But PB&J Hee hee

I have done reviews of the other three ice creams in the keto line of ice creams the Killer Whey puts out You can find a playlist right up here that will contain all four of them, including this video And if you have not seen any of those, Killer Whey is a company out of Boise, Idaho that produces ice cream for people on the ketogenic diet Very low carbs, pretty high fats, moderate protein So I am going to review today this ice cream

It's PB & Whey As always, I split my ice cream reviews into How's it feel coming out of the container? How's it feel in the mouth? Is it crumbly? Is it smooth? And this has been out of my freezer this particular pint has been sitting on the counter for 65 minutes

So an hour and five minutes of room temperature We'll see how that impacts the texture Next part of the review is the taste Do I like the way it tastes? I saved this one for last, because I was very hopeful that it would be you know, peanut butter and chocolate I don't know if it is chocolate, though, because I was confused by the 'PB & Whey" We'll see what it tastes like Peanut butter, at the very least, is one of my favorite things

The third part of the review is the carbs, and that is where all of these ice creams in the keto line of ice creams from Killer Whey really shine Very, very low carbs So let's get into it, and open it up Oh! I got a little bit of a situation here on the top I'll just take care of this – take of this

There's the texture Looking pretty good I'm gonna dig right into this, as I destroy my table, and dig right into this thing Oh boy Pretty smooth

I mean, it's been sitting out for over an hour, so that might be a little that top layer might be a little too melty, but I'm still wow I'm still getting parts that have sort of these shards, which is not a deal breaker for me Probably comes with the territory of having an ice cream that doesn't have a whole lot of sugar in it That's that's a big bit It's going in I don't know that I've hit any huge pockets of peanut butter yet, because this tastes a lot like the Coco You Know Yeah, I'm having trouble picking up any peanut butter in here Here is a bite that has some peanut butter in it

You can see, there's like a stripe right down the center, there So I'm trying to focus on that Okay, now there's a there's a kind of a a faint hint againit's getting toward being able to taste it Yeah, the peanut butter is not too strong in this this It almost almost tastes the same as the Coco You Know Yeah, I mean there's a hint of peanut butter The peanut butter taste is not very strong

So a little bit of a letdown with this I was hoping for a little bit more peanut butter flavor It is there, it's just not as much as I personally want It's very heavy on the chocolate flavor, which is itself not super-strong It's

it's kind of like I said, the Coco You Know flavor, with, you know, a hint of peanut butter in it Here's what they say about PB & Whey on their website It says, "Grab a shovel, you'll need it

Our chocolate peanut butter ice cream is a keto-friendly rendition of a family favorite Our decadent ribbon of peanut butter only contains two grams of sugar per serving* It feels and tastes like an old-fashioned ice cream without the consequences of high amounts of sugar" The asterisk is: "You'll notice our chocolate peanut butter ice cream has 2 grams of sugar per serving on its nutrition facts One gram is from our dairy ingredients

Milk sugars (lactose) are rated 45 on the glycemic index Our peanut butter only contains one gram of sugar per serving" So that's what they're saying about it I will read you the nutrition information Nutrition facts: 1/2 cup

Servings per container: Four Calories: 180 Wow There's 720 calories in this pint, so just just so's ya knows

Calories from fat: 150 Total fat: 16 grams Saturated fat: 9 Zero trans fats Cholesterol: 55 milligrams

Sodium: 45 milligrams Total carbohydrate: 13 grams Dietary fiber: 3 Sugar alcohols: 8 So that's 2 grams of net carbs per serving

8 grams of net carbs per pint So there you have it That's Killer Whey's PB & Whey I'm gonna try one more time to get some peanut butter flavor Yeah, that's just

It's stillIt's stillThis is an hour and five minutes after coming out of the freezer Crazy

I'll try this little bite here That one, that bite that was mostly ribbon, I could kind of taste a little peanut butter So I I don't know that I would get this flavor myself It's very similar to their chocolate So if I had to rank these flavors, how would i rank them? I would probably rank

I think number four, down at the bottom, is gonna be this guy PB & Whey, just because the peanut butter was not doing it for me on this one Iould have loved a little bit more in there

Number three is Coco You Know, their chocolate flavor Again, almost exactly the same, to me, asas this, minus the hint of peanut butter

Still a decent chocolate flavor, but wasn't super-super chocolaty Number two would be No Judge Mint I thought that was very, very good Probably one of the better mint ice creams I've had And then number one for me would be Chilla in Vanilla

Chicken Florentine Alfredo Casserole – A Very Easy Low Carb Keto Recipe

Welcome all! Papa G here Today I present a wonderfully delicious low carbohydrate casserole recipe

My Chicken Florentine Alfredo Casserole With just a few ingredients and some simple shortcuts, you'll enjoy a meal that's as easy to make as it is delicious to eat Let's get started As I just said, using some time-saving shortcuts will help you to prepare this recipe a lot quicker For example, a precooked rotisserie chicken from your local grocer; pre-wash baby spinach; and some pre sliced mushrooms

Now although the spinach could be used as is, I prefer to trim some of the larger stems from the spinach I think this helps give a little better texture to the dish We'll do some prep work by cutting up six strips of bacon After shredding the chicken, place in a large mixing bowl Add some poultry seasoning and give a mix with your hands to coat the chicken; then set it aside

In a large skillet on medium-high heat, add the bacon Fry the bacon until it's about two-thirds done When it's reach just about this point, add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and continue to cook until the mushrooms soften Add the baby spinach Now it looks like a lot, but you'll see as it cooks down it'll wilt considerably

Carefully mix the spinach in and cook until it's completely wilted down Now add the bacon, mushrooms and spinach to the seasoned chicken and mix to combine Use some butter and grease a 9 by 13 inch casserole dish Pour the chicken mixture into the casserole dish and distribute as evenly as possible Next, we'll need about two and a half cups of my alfredo sauce

I'll have a link in the description below for that recipe Add a quarter cup of sour cream and mix with a whisk to combine Pour the sauce evenly over the top Now evenly distribute a half a cup of shredded mozzarella cheese Follow that with a half a cup of shredded cheddar cheese

Cover with some aluminum foil and place in the middle of a preheated 375°F oven for 20 minutes Carefully remove from the oven and uncover Place the casserole back in the heated oven for an additional 20 minutes Remove once again and let cool just a bit Serve hot and enjoy one of the best low carbohydrate casseroles you'll ever try

So fair, that's a fair thing to say You've got to give it a shot The easiest way to do keto – I'm gonna – I'm gonna – I'm gonna blow your mind ,and I'm gonna say gradually start to do Keto, rather than jump into it You don't jump into the pool when it's really really cold cuz it's freezing you're like, "Oh my god" and then like someone else is like, "Go in there!" you're like, "I don't want to go!" Then, you jump in the pool, put your legs in,and then you sit down kinda, like, kick the water and you're like, "Yeah it's kind of hot, like, I'm gonna go ahead I'm gonna go ahead!" And then you go in, you're playing ball, it's the SAME thing with KETO Same exact explanation

Insanely good analogy that I just gave you because jumping into Keto is more than likely gonna get you to jump right back out – because it's quote-unquote "freezing" It's like that analogy that I said So what I would do is, I would first start removing carbohydrates Let's just say you have to get about 75 grams – err 75 percent of your food should be fats, right? Let's just say 10 to 15 percent should be carbs and the rest is gonna be proteins

Okay, the first thing you do if you're a beginner is, I would start making that switch, and slowly doing it – let's say, normally, you eat about a hundred grams of carbs You measure it with, like, MyFitnessPal You go, "Man like I need about 150 grams of carbs a day! Well I wonder why I'm always tired?" But anyways – I'm no doctor I'm just a man in a cape The way you would do that, is you would start to, like, remove some stuff so say like, "All right I'm gonna take 50 grams off by, like, not having these potatoes, or, like ,not having this oatmeal will take 30 grams off!" And slowly start to move it, slowly start to up your fat and take down your protein just a little bit

When you start to gradually do it it becomes a little bit easier of a habit It becomes a little bit easier to manage, to maintain, and then you get everything started Now you're kind of jumping into keto as a beginner I would always try to, like, create, like, cheats It's like playing a game and then, like, having the codes

You want to have the codes so you can win I used to be obsessed with cookies Still am Honestly, I'm not gonna lie – like pretty much, like, I'm addicted to cookies That's why I don't eat them, because it's like, I gotta eat all of them

So I found this delicious treat – full disclosure – I am an affiliate and I've advised this company before so don't come at me, like, "Oh, like, hey man?" What do you want me to do They're called fat bombs They taste like a better, more delicious peanut butter They've got macadamia nut butter, they've got chocolate hazelnut, the flavors are insane right? So I eat one of those packets It increases my fat, it makes me satiated, that means full

So, like, as a beginner, I used to eat more of those and put that on top of stuff I would find like a super low carb thing, put some stuff on top of that – Get some more calories in So try to find easy and fun ways to do this I'm gonna say this again – Like, this is the channel where we say normal shit I'm not trying to like, change your life forever and be like, :This is the most strict thing!" if you're super EXTREME crazy strict on stuff, you're more than likely gonna fail

So if you jump off the bandwagon, get back on the bandwagon It is a strict thing because you've got to get into a ketogenic state, but don't kill yourself and freak out My kid wanted to eat a pancake and she was like, "Can we have a pancake? You never eat with me! because you're super keto!" I had a pancake with her I'm not a b*stard My diets gonna be fine

I'm not a fitness model yet I could have been p*ssed off but I was like, "You know what? I'm a super dad like the Cape says

" She's happy, I'm happy I'll be keto in like two days Don't stress out if something happens You're in a business situation and ,like, you're not used to it -just just do it man! You've got to be comfortable with you and your strategy and how you do things Okay? So don't sweat the small stuff – but always be aware and be cognizant that you do have to hit a certain amount of fat and a low amount of carbs so you can be in ketosis, all right? Test your ketones with a bunch of keto strips The precision Extra is a great way to test your Ketones, and that's it! It's super simple – It's a beginner's guide The biggest part of a beginner is, like, don't freak out man – because people can be like, "All you've got to do – all these things!" Like, listen

You're not the keto police Leave me alone I'm gonna get keto in my own way, I'm gonna get into ketosis, and I'm gonna be fine Once you're good with it, you develop your own relationship with the foods you want to eat, the way that you want to do keto – make it your own I see too many people being like, "You can't have white monsters! You can't have too many Brussels sprouts! You can't have too many steaks because it's got protein!" Hey

Hey Keto Cop take it the F down! Chill I'm gonna make mistakes, and I'm gonna have brussels sprouts, and I'm gonna have a white monster – and I'm gonna be in ketosis If you don't like it, do keto your way
